## Children and the Law - Staff Attorney 2

As a Staff Attorney 2, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the ABA's mission and make a positive impact on the rule of law.

### Responsibilities:
As a Staff Attorney 2, you will be responsible for:
* Conducting legal research and writing speeches, memoranda, and articles for publication
* Providing substantive advice, information, and making policy recommendations
* Serving as the principal ABA expert on a substantive area of law or public policy
* Facilitating multidisciplinary convenings, building and maintaining relationships with community stakeholders
* Designing and delivering substantive content for presentations and training
* Contributing to the writing of proposals for additional grant funding
* Assisting with managing and updating project websites and other communication platforms
* Giving presentations and/or teaching on legal and public policy issues
* Managing substantive/legal project aspects, overseeing research, report-writing, and publication
* Analyzing laws, regulations, court rules, and policies/policy proposals
* Securing outside funding, writing grants, and dealing with grant makers

### Required Education, Qualifications, and Experience:
* Doctoral Degree (JD, PhD) and active bar admission in at least one jurisdiction
* At least four (4) years working in child welfare or other relevant specialized area of law
* Experience in health law, social and racial justice, grant management is a plus
* High level of skills at legal writing and research, oral and written communications, and organizational skill
* Substantial experience in policy analysis

### Physical Requirements:
Typical office work environment.

### Extent of Travel Required in the Job:
Ability to travel 20% is required.
