The ideal candidate will possess a degree in electrical engineering or computer science and have a minimum of 2 years of relevant patent preparation and prosecution experience. A JD and admission to the USPTO are mandatory.

Duties:

  • Conduct patent preparation and prosecution activities, specializing in electrical engineering or computer science.
  • Collaborate with clients, inventors, and senior attorneys to analyze and address legal issues related to intellectual property.
  • Draft, review, and submit patent applications, responses to office actions, and various legal documents.
  • Perform comprehensive legal research to support patent prosecution efforts and stay current with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Participate in the development and execution of patent strategies for clients.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated high level of academic achievement.
  • 2+ years of relevant patent preparation and prosecution experience.
  • JD and admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or computer science.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in patent prosecution related to electrical engineering or software-related technologies.
  • Exposure to data science/AI, networking technologies, particularly network security.
  • Familiarity with machine learning/artificial intelligence and hardware security.
