This position will handle all aspects of personal injury litigation from initial referral to trial. The attorney will be responsible for predominantly Central New Jersey territories but may also receive cases from any county in the state. The ideal candidate must be organized, a team player, and able to handle a high volume of files and out-of-office appearances.

As a Trial Attorney, the essential functions and responsibilities of this position include analyzing lawsuits, preparing pleadings, conducting depositions, attending court conferences, arbitrations, motions, and trials. The candidate must possess a minimum of five years of relevant personal injury automobile negligence experience and have an ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with clients to help them understand the lawsuit process and secure their cooperation in defending them. In addition, the candidate must have excellent knowledge of rules of evidence and civil procedure, as well as all aspects of insurance law, such as coverage questions, UM and UIM coverage, and No-Fault.

The Trial Attorney will also provide legal research and direction to Claims on cases, as well as legal advice and direction. Subrogation and PIP recovery experience is a plus. The candidate must have an aptitude to work independently in making decisions, handling files, and communicating those decisions to the proper parties. They must also be able to work in a paperless environment and have strong computer skills with a working knowledge of MS Word and Outlook.

To be considered for this position, the candidate must be fully licensed to practice law in New Jersey. New York or Pennsylvania Bar Admission is a plus, but not required.
