Summary:

BDO is seeking an experienced and highly skilled International Tax Managing Director to join our team in Denver, CO. This role offers a competitive salary with a range of $150,000 - $400,000, depending on qualifications, experience, skills, and location. As an ESOP company, BDO offers a unique opportunity for employees to financially benefit from the firm's success. The Managing Director will be responsible for growing the International Tax practice, providing practical tax advice to clients, and developing a local team. They must have strong technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to maintain key client relationships. This is a full-time position with a travel requirement of 0-20%.

Responsibilities:

As the International Tax Managing Director, you will be responsible for:

Providing practical tax advice to clients and developing innovative solutions for complex international tax issues
Ensuring compliance with firm policies regarding Written Tax Advice (WTA)
Acting as an industry expert in international tax and serving as a resource for tax matters with selected foreign jurisdictions
Managing international tax services for assigned clients and identifying opportunities for tax alerts
Exhibiting thought leadership in a specialized area within International Tax and working with the Business Development team to develop effective marketing strategies
Identifying complex situations requiring research and conducting detailed analysis of findings
Managing client engagements and conducting detailed reviews of international tax aspects of . tax reporting
Representing clients in front of . tax authorities for international tax aspects of contested issues
Applying standards and firm policies, reviewing international aspects of tax provisions, and coordinating with BDO colleagues in . jurisdictions
Mentoring and supervising International Tax Managers, Senior Associates, Associates, and Interns and providing periodic performance feedback

Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, you must have:

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, with a focus on Accounting preferred
A ., LLM, or MST/MBT, preferred
10 or more years of experience in corporate tax, international taxation, legal professional services, or equivalent experience gained through an advanced degree program
Prior experience in International Tax
A CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a . jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (“EA”) or the equivalent of one of these designations
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience utilizing RIA, BNA, Lexis Nexis, and/or Westlaw
Strong verbal and written communication skills, analytical and research skills, and organizational skills
The ability to work independently and in a team environment, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines
Excellent relationship-building skills and the ability to act as a primary contact on assigned engagements
