Director, Transactional Counsel (Energy, Solar, and EV Charging) The candidate will provide strategic legal advice, support transactions, and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations in the dynamic and evolving fields of energy, solar, and mobility. Provide regulatory and transactional support on matters related to the energy, solar, and EV charging industries. Stay abreast of regulatory developments and changes in energy, solar, and mobility sectors to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Advise on legal risks associated with business initiatives and propose risk mitigation strategies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure legal considerations are integrated into business decisions. Handle legal aspects of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and other corporate transactions in the specified industries. Manage external counsel relationships, when necessary, and ensure effective and efficient legal support. Participate in the development and delivery of legal training programs to internal stakeholders. Develop scalable processes for legal review of new products and services.

Qualification and Experience The candidate should have a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and a valid license to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction. Must have 7+ years of experience practicing corporate or commercial law, with a strong emphasis on energy, solar, and mobility sectors. In-depth knowledge of energy regulations, solar incentives, and mobility industry regulations is required. Proven experience in drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements specific to energy, solar, and mobility industries is essential. Should have a strong understanding of mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and other corporate or strategic transactions. Must have experience in managing external legal counsel and overseeing legal outsourcing when required. Strong MS Office expertise (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) is needed. Should be an in-house lawyer with specialized experience in any of the following: renewable energy development, battery storage, solar, and/or EV charging industries. Should ideally have a strong background in commercial and industrial scale solar and energy storage in the US, with a background in project finance, corporate law, regulatory compliance, and industry-specific legal contracting frameworks. Must have experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of transactions in the renewable energy space, including power purchase agreements, REC purchases, EPC contracts, asset management, joint development, M&A / joint ventures, and related agreements, as well as a strong background in general commercial contracting.
