Working in close collaboration with the Intellectual Property (IP) team, this position entails drafting and prosecuting patent applications before the . Patent & Trademark Office, providing vital support in patent litigation and prosecution matters, conducting patentability assessments, and executing third-party patent searches. In addition, Patent Agents play a crucial part in patent diligence for mergers and acquisitions while also contributing to patent clearance and enforcement initiatives.
The ideal candidate for this role possesses patent application drafting and prosecution experience, well-developed patent database search skills, substantive academic and professional knowledge, and a strong aptitude for teamwork and collaboration. Excellent time management skills are essential for success in this fast-paced environment. An undergraduate degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering is a requirement, with a preference for candidates having experience in prosecuting patent applications in the fields of mechanical and electrical engineering, and additional expertise in chemistry or biochemistry is highly valued. Candidates should bring approximately 3+ years of intellectual property experience to the table and hold a USPTO registration number, with an advanced technical degree being a preferred qualification.
