A law firm is currently seeking a pre-litigation attorney for its Newark, NJ, location. The Attorney will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of personal injury cases, from case evaluation to the filing of complaints. This role involves providing direction to a team, evaluating case merits, offering guidance to clients, conducting medical case reviews, and engaging in legal research and analysis. The attorney will also be responsible for negotiating and authorizing settlements during the pre-litigation stage.

Duties:

• Manage all aspects of personal injury cases up to the filing of a complaint.
• Supervise and provide direction to a team of staff members.
• Evaluate the merits of personal injury cases.
• Provide guidance and counsel to clients.
• Conduct medical case reviews.
• Engage in research and legal analysis.
• Negotiate and authorize settlements in the pre-litigation stage.
• Maintain a license in good standing to practice law in New Jersey.
• Handle a large and active caseload effectively.
• Prioritize client representation and customer service.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience with client contact and/or negotiation experience.
• License in good standing to practice law in New Jersey.

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Skills:
