Corporate Counsel, Compliance: A Comprehensive Overview

Okta, The World’s Identity Company, is seeking a Corporate Counsel, Compliance to join their Legal Department’s Ethics & Compliance team. This role is critical in supporting Okta’s ethical culture and building a strong global ethics program. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of compliance risks and regulations, as well as experience with program development and implementation. Key Responsibilities

- Develop and implement policies and procedures to mitigate compliance risks
- Advise on a range of compliance topics, including conflicts of interest, anti-bribery and anti-corruption, competition, human rights, and more
- Monitor global regulations and identify potential impact to Okta
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with international and domestic laws and regulations
- Assist with compliance risk assessments and audits
- Create and deliver compliance trainings
- Promote Okta’s ethical culture through global communications and outreach
- Collaborate with internal investigations team on compliance remediation
- Develop data-driven metrics to track program developments and progress
- Assist with quarterly reporting on ethics and compliance program

Requirements

- 7+ years of legal experience with an in-house legal department and/or top-tier law firm, focused on ethics and compliance program development
- JD and good standing to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction
- In-depth knowledge of ethics and compliance program requirements, best practices, and DOJ guidelines
- Subject matter expertise in key global regulatory risk areas, such as anti-bribery/anti-corruption, competition, export controls, and more
- Experience advising multinational, publicly traded companies
- Experience at a company with a channel-based business model is a plus
- Strong ethics and integrity, sound judgment, and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience driving and tracking progress on cross-functional projects
- Flexible, pragmatic, and able to adjust priorities to meet business needs
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently
- Self-motivated with a collaborative approach
- Sense of humor!

Compensation and Benefits

The annual base salary range for this position is between $146,000 - $272,000 USD, depending on location and experience. In addition, Okta offers equity, bonus, and comprehensive benefits package.
