A law firm is seeking a dynamic and experienced Labor And Employment Advice and Counsel Associate Attorney to join their team. This position is based in Chicago, IL.

Job Overview:

The Labor And Employment Advice and Counsel Associate Attorney will play a crucial role in providing proactive employment law advice and counseling to clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for staying abreast of legal developments, drafting and negotiating employment contracts, and collaborating with in-house attorneys and HR teams on various employment-related matters.

Duties:

  • Provide day-to-day proactive employment law advice, assistance, and counseling.
  • Proactively review new legislation, employment law developments, and best practices, assisting clients in updating policies and practices accordingly.
  • Counsel clients' in-house attorneys and HR team on a wide range of employment relations, compensation, and talent acquisition matters, including offer letters, performance management, discipline, accommodations, diversity and inclusion, and terminations.
  • Draft, revise, and negotiate employment-related contracts.
  • Create, customize, and update release agreements.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of employment law experience.
  • 4+ years of relevant law firm or in-house counsel experience.
  • Must be licensed to practice in Illinois.
  • Proven ability to work proactively and reliably under tight timeframes in a fast-paced client environment.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and judgment.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to write concisely.
  • Comfort speaking and writing about complex matters with pragmatism to communicate clearly with legal and non-legal client contacts.
  • Commitment to professionalism.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Executive compensation experience preferred.
  • Experience working with clients in financial services preferred.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in the state of Illinois.

Skills:

  • Legal research and analysis.
  • Contract drafting and negotiation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Time management and multitasking.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
