#Tax Senior - Financial Services - Hedge Fund Deloitte is seeking a Tax Senior to join their Hedge Fund Tax practice. This role is ideal for a leader and passionate individual who understands tax planning and returns, identifying complex tax issues for a variety of hedge fund clients. The wage range for this role is $63,420 to $144,300. ##Position Summary Tax seniors at Deloitte Tax LLP identify complex tax issues and provide tax analyses for a variety of hedge fund clients and their affiliates. The right person should have a solid understanding of Subchapter K related to hedge fund structures, financial products and related tax adjustments, and aggregate allocations. ##What You'll Do - Perform detail-level review of tax workpapers, allocations and tax returns - Perform research to advise on transactional and tax planning opportunities - Build relationships and coordinate and communicate with the client contacts to gather information - Train, mentor and supervise new and experienced-level staff - Attend required Deloitte Tax LLP and sector-specific training ##The Team Deloitte Tax LLP works with clients to address a range of critical issues brought on by regulatory changes, competition, globalization, advances in technology, and the changing demands of their investors/customers. Our US tax industry group is comprised of more than 1,400 partners, principals, and employees providing a spectrum of tax services to a broad range of Investment Management companies. ##Qualifications - Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model that requires US Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2-3 days per week - 3+ years’ experience providing tax planning services or preparing and reviewing client work papers and income tax returns - Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or other business-related field - Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA - If not CPA eligible: Licensed attorney or Enrolled Agent - Certifications: Chartered Financial Advisor (CFA) or Certified Financial Planner (CFP) - Demonstrated basic understanding of Subchapter K, financial products, wash sale and constructive sale rules, as well as familiarity with aggregate allocations - Strong verbal and written communication skills - Knowledge of fund accounting and general ledger accounting - Ability to travel up to 25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve ##Preferred Qualifications - Advanced degree such as Masters of Tax, JD, and/or LLM - Previous Big 4 or large CPA firm experience ##Compensation The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $63,420 to $144,300.
