Position Summary

Deloitte is seeking a Tax Manager for their Business Tax Services team, specifically in the Federal/Corporate Tax division. This role is responsible for providing federal tax consulting and compliance services to a diverse client base in various industry sectors. The ideal candidate will have a strategic and creative mindset, with the ability to solve complex federal tax issues. Responsibilities

- Maintaining and developing strong client relationships on various federal tax consulting/compliance engagements.
- Advising clients on a variety of tax issues including accounting for income taxes, FTA (periods, methods & credits), tax provisions, tax compliance, business restructuring, and tax controversy.
- Overseeing complex federal tax compliance and consulting projects requiring tax analysis for a variety of entities and their affiliates.
- Managing engagement workflow, engagement team resources, and engagement billing.
- Providing leadership, counseling, and career guidance for the development and motivation of the engagement team.

Deloitte Tax LLP's Business Tax Services team is a dynamic team with professionals from varying backgrounds. They provide expertise to clients to integrate tax strategy into their business operations while considering individual risk profiles. The team consists of subject matter experts and industry specialists who provide services and solutions relevant to clients' business needs. They assist with global tax challenges and help transform the tax department to create greater impact and efficiency within the organization.

Qualifications

Required:

- Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model that requires US Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2-3 days per week
- 5+ years' experience in federal tax compliance, federal tax accounting and provisions, tax analysis, and tax research
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- One of the following accreditations obtained:
- Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA
- If not CPA eligible:
- Licensed Attorney
- Enrolled Agent
- Certifications:
- Chartered Financial Advisor (CFA)
- Certified Financial Planner (CFP)
- Ability to travel up to 25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve

Preferred:

- Advanced degree such as Masters of Tax, JD, and/or LLM
- Experience working in a virtual and/or global environment
- Passion for leveraging technology and exploring new technology solutions
- Solid understanding with accounting for income taxes in accordance to ASC740
- Previous Big 4 or large CPA firm experience
- Excellent research and writing skills
- Excellent presentation and communications skills
- Strong management experience

Salary Information

The wage range for this role takes into account various factors, including skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $84,980 to $169,650.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program. The award, if any, depends on various factors, including individual and organizational performance.
