A law firm in Columbia is seeking a Tax Associate Attorney or Of Counsel to join its team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in building the existing tax practice, engaging in significant client interaction, and eventually transitioning into a leadership position within the firm. Applicants with strong academic backgrounds, exceptional writing and analytical abilities, and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in estate planning are encouraged to apply.

 

Duties:

  • Provide comprehensive tax advice and estate planning services to clients.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on tax-related matters.
  • Draft legal documents including wills, trusts, and estate plans.
  • Represent clients in tax audits, appeals, and litigation proceedings.
  • Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys to develop strategies for client matters.
  • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations.
  • Mentor junior associates and interns within the tax practice.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate or better in Law.
  • Admission to the State Bar.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in estate planning.
  • Demonstrated expertise in tax law and related areas.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality legal services to clients.
