Overview:
Flint Hills Resources is seeking a Senior Counsel to join their legal team in Wichita, Kansas. This position will play a critical role in providing legal advice and support to the company's refining and pipeline business. The Senior Counsel will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure legal compliance, mitigate risks, and support business initiatives.

Responsibilities:
- Provide legal guidance and counsel on a wide range of matters related to pipeline operations, regulatory compliance, transactions, and risk management
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and legal documents
- Conduct legal research and analysis to support business needs
- Advise on pipeline and environmental regulations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess and manage legal risks
- Represent the company in negotiations, disputes, and regulatory proceedings
- Assist in the development and implementation of compliance programs
- Track legal and regulatory trends in the industry
- Manage external counsel and legal budgets
- Provide training and guidance to internal stakeholders
- Collaborate with government agencies and industry partners

Basic Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to the bar in relevant jurisdiction
- Experience practicing law, with a focus on oil and gas, refining, and pipelines
- Familiarity with federal, state, and local pipeline regulations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications:
- 6-10 years of experience practicing law in the refining, oil, and gas industry
- Knowledge of FERC regulations and environmental requirements
- Experience with pipeline real estate matters
