Job Overview: A law firm in Chicago, IL, is seeking an Associate Attorney with 1-7 years of experience and an Illinois law license to join its Workers’ Compensation practice. The ideal candidate will possess strong litigation and writing skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capability to manage a full caseload efficiently.

Job Duties:

  • Advise clients on claims liability and interpret laws, rules, and regulations related to Workers’ Compensation.
  • Analyze potential case outcomes, gather evidence through client interviews and relevant party depositions, and attend hearings and trials.
  • Present cases to arbitrators, and draft legal documents such as opinion letters and settlement contracts.
  • Manage a full caseload effectively while maintaining high-quality work.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

  • Illinois law license (additional state licenses are a plus).
  • 1+ year of insurance defense experience.
  • Strong litigation and writing skills.
  • Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed attorney in the state of Illinois.
