A law firm is seeking an Employment Law Associate Attorney for their Madison office. The ideal candidate should have 3+ years of litigation experience. The Employment Law Associate Attorney will advise clients on their legal rights under state and federal anti-discrimination laws, conduct legal research, prepare litigation documents, represent clients before administrative agencies, and supervise legal assistants. They will also need to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, handle matters independently, and collaborate effectively with the firm’s shareholders and staff.

 

Duties:

  • Advise clients on their legal rights under state and federal anti-discrimination laws.
  • Conduct legal research using online databases such as LexisNexis.
  • Prepare, draft, and review litigation documents including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Prepare and respond to written discovery.
  • Conduct depositions and assist other attorneys in preparing for depositions.
  • Represent clients before administrative agencies.
  • Supervise and mentor legal assistants.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of Wisconsin.
  • Experience working in civil litigation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in various settings.
  • Ability to explain complex legal concepts to individuals outside the legal field.
  • Capacity to handle matters independently and collaboratively with the firm’s shareholders and staff.

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of Wisconsin.

 

Skills:

  • Legal research.
  • Drafting and reviewing litigation documents.
  • Deposition conduct.
  • Verbal and written communication.
  • Supervisory and mentoring skills.
