Job Overview: A law firm in West Palm Beach, FL is seeking a highly skilled Tax Controversy Counsel with extensive experience in tax litigation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background in law and taxation, coupled with a proven track record in tax court proceedings and a comprehensive understanding of civil and criminal tax controversies.

Duties:

• Represent clients in tax litigation matters, including disputes with tax authorities and related legal proceedings.
• Provide legal counsel and guidance on tax controversy issues, including whistleblower claims and voluntary offshore disclosures.
• Conduct legal research, analysis, and case preparation to support clients in tax-related disputes.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external experts to develop effective legal strategies for resolving tax controversies.
• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and settlement agreements, to advance clients' interests in tax matters.
• Advocate on behalf of clients in tax court proceedings, administrative hearings, and other dispute resolution forums.
• Stay current with developments in tax law and regulations to ensure effective representation of clients' interests.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctorate (JD) and LLM in Taxation from accredited law schools.
• 8-10 years of demonstrated experience in tax litigation, with a focus on civil and criminal tax controversies.
• Proven track record of success in representing clients in tax court proceedings.
• Strong academic record with exceptional analytical and research skills.
• Active license to practice law in the state of Florida.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively advocate for clients' interests.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with whistleblower claims and voluntary offshore disclosures.
• Familiarity with tax laws and regulations at the federal, state, and local levels.
