A law firm in Houston, TX, is seeking a highly experienced Transportation/Trucking Litigation Defense Attorney with over 10 years of practice. The ideal candidate will have extensive litigation experience in Texas state courts, particularly defending transportation/trucking cases.

Duties:

  • Provide comprehensive defense services to trucking and transportation companies facing litigation, focusing on personal injury claims, transportation issues, Department of Transportation record-keeping matters, accident reconstruction, and forensic evidence assembly.
  • Represent clients in state court litigation proceedings, including drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery requests/responses.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on relevant case law and statutes.
  • Attend hearings, depositions, and mediations as required.
  • Collaborate with partners on case strategy and client communication.
  • Prepare for and participate in trial proceedings as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and organized case files and documentation.
  • Stay abreast of changes in transportation laws, regulations, and industry trends.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
  • 10+ years of litigation experience, preferably in the specified practice areas.
  • Litigation experience in Texas state courts.
  • Proficiency in drafting legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests/responses.
  • Legal research and analysis skills.
  • Trial preparation and courtroom experience.
  • Case management and organizational abilities.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Valid license to practice law in Texas.
