A law firm in Boston, MA, is seeking a highly qualified Mid-/Senior-level Intellectual Property Associate Attorney with 1-7 years of experience in patent prosecution within the biotechnology practice. The ideal candidate should possess an advanced degree, preferably a ., in a life sciences technology area, such as molecular biology, immunology, biochemistry, cell biology, and similar fields. The role involves patent prosecution and counseling projects with emerging companies in areas like antibodies, DNA or RNA therapeutics, chemical biology, gene editing, and more. The candidate must also hold membership in the Patent Bar with a USPTO Registration Number.

Duties:

• Provide expert legal counsel and representation to clients in patent prosecution matters, focusing on biotechnology subjects such as antibodies, DNA or RNA therapeutics, chemical biology, and gene editing.
• Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to support clients' patent applications and prosecution needs.
• Draft, review, and file patent applications, amendments, and responses to office actions.
• Collaborate closely with clients and senior attorneys to develop effective patent prosecution strategies.
• Stay updated on developments in patent law and regulations in the biotechnology sector.
• Manage patent prosecution and counseling projects with emerging companies.

Requirements:

• 1-7 years of patent prosecution experience within a biotechnology practice.
• Possession of an advanced degree, preferably a ., in a life sciences technology area.
• Membership in the Patent Bar with a USPTO Registration Number is mandatory.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
• An advanced degree, preferably a ., in a life sciences technology area (., molecular biology, immunology, biochemistry, cell biology).

Certifications:

• Membership in the Patent Bar with a USPTO Registration Number is required.
