A law firm is seeking a Junior Partner for their Hammond, IN office. The Junior Partner will primarily focus on defense litigation with experience in insurance coverage preferred. They will independently manage a litigation caseload, attend court hearings in multiple counties, and ensure deadlines are met. Duties:

  • Independently manage a litigation caseload, handling cases from inception to resolution.
  • Attend court hearings in various counties and courthouses.
  • Monitor routine case files to maintain deadlines and investigate legal matters.
  • Research, analyze, and interpret legal sources such as statutes, rules, court decisions, and legal opinions.
  • Assist with document review and preparation.
  • Conduct depositions and other discovery activities.
  • Collaborate with partners and other team members on case strategies and tactics.

 

Requirements:

  • Good standing with the Indiana Bar; Illinois license preferred.
  • 7+ years of relevant litigation experience.
  • Defense litigation experience, particularly in insurance coverage (preferred).
  • Experience managing own caseload and handling all aspects of litigation.
  • Strong organization and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Deposition experience (required).
  • Interest in litigating in other fields of practice.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Good standing with the Indiana Bar; Illinois license preferred.
