A law firm in New York City is seeking a Civil Litigation Insurance Defense Attorney. The attorney will be responsible for handling Automobile and Premises Liability cases, preferably in a defense capacity. They must be self-starters with a good academic record and solid legal research and writing skills. Admission to the New York State Bar is required.

 

Duties:

  • Defend clients in Automobile and Premises Liability cases.
  • Conduct legal research, prepare legal documents, and represent clients in court.
  • Manage a caseload from inception to resolution.
  • Attend court hearings, depositions, and mediations.
  • Work closely with clients, experts, and insurance carriers.
  • Provide sound legal advice and strategies to clients.
  • Prepare pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Attend trials and argue motions when necessary.
  • Keep clients informed of case developments.

 

Requirements:

  • Admission to the New York State Bar.
  • 2-8 years of experience handling Automobile and Premises Liability cases, preferably in a defense capacity.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications (optional):

Certification in Insurance Defense (preferred but not required).
