A law firm is seeking a Mid-Senior Level Energy Project Finance Associate Attorney for its Austin office. The Energy Project Finance Associate Attorney will work on energy project development, M&A, and project finance transactions, with a focus on renewable power and energy transition. The role requires significant transactional experience and familiarity with energy regulatory matters.

 

Duties:

  • Draft primary deal documents, including purchase and sale agreements, investment agreements (including tax equity), financing agreements, and joint venture agreements
  • Lead complex diligence and deal management
  • Manage junior associates and internal specialist teams
  • Interact with clients and produce high-quality work product
  • Provide legal advice on energy regulatory matters, project real property, permitting requirements, and offtake agreements
  • Collaborate with a team-oriented approach

 

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in the project development and finance group
  • Admission to one or more State Bars
  • Significant experience in energy project development, M&A, and project finance transactions
  • Familiarity with energy regulatory matters
  • Strong drafting skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, busy practice environment

 

Education:

JD degree from an accredited law school

 

Certifications:

Admission to one or more State Bars

 

Skills:

  • Transactional experience in energy project development and finance
