A law firm in Tallahassee is seeking a Bankruptcy Attorney to provide oversight and management of high-volume statewide bankruptcy matters. The ideal candidate will have experience in Residential Foreclosure, Creditor Rights, and Bankruptcy, with a minimum of 3 years in good standing in the state where hired. The role involves overseeing department paralegals, managing bankruptcy file management, and serving as a liaison between clients, vendors, outside counsel, courts, trustees, and other bankruptcy personnel.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage high-volume statewide bankruptcy matters for client cases.
  • Provide oversight and review to expedite files and ensure appropriate actions are taken.
  • Supervise department paralegals and act as a liaison between various stakeholders.
  • Research and analyze statutes, judicial decisions, legal articles, codes, and related materials.
  • Communicate with clients, internal staff, and others to ensure cases are handled appropriately.
  • Input and maintain information in the case management system, ensuring data integrity.
  • Attend hearings, settlement conferences, and other appearances as necessary.
  • Establish a strong follow-up system to ensure deadlines are met for pleadings.
  • Prioritize and work at a fast pace on a high volume of files with great attention to detail.
  • Travel to court and clients as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate degree.
  • Minimum of 3 years in good standing as a licensed attorney in the state of practice.
  • Experience in Residential Foreclosure, Creditor Rights, and Bankruptcy.

 

Certifications:

Licensed to practice law in the state of hire.

 

Skills:

  • Strong oversight and management skills.
  • Excellent research and analytical abilities.
  • Effective communication with clients and internal staff.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on data integrity.
  • Ability to prioritize and work efficiently on a high volume of files.
