Director, Privacy & Data Protection:

H2: Lead global data protection and privacy strategies for clients and drive new opportunities for the firm.

Job Duties:

- Develop and deliver data protection and privacy strategies for client C-suite/board
- Build cross-cultural functionality for clients to operationalize global privacy programs
- Manage project teams and ensure timely and quality work product for clients
- Establish new relationships to drive new opportunities for BDO
- Comply with BDO’s Quality Risk Management, Data Protection, and other Frameworks
- Manage and maintain relationships with clients and BDO professionals
- Mentor team members and ensure consistency in work product and BDO standards
- Manage multiple large, complex and potentially long-term engagements and clients
- Act as a leader and maintain a positive attitude towards clients and firm personnel
- Develop and manage project budgets and deliver timely invoices
- Support the Data Protection Officer for clients, as required
- Participate in and conduct business unit, legal, IT, privacy, and governance interviews and meetings
- Act as primary contact on assigned engagements and up-sell after the first engagement

Supervisory Responsibilities:

- Train and evaluate performance of team members and provide periodic feedback
- Act as mentor to team members as appropriate

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

- Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s or Juris Doctorate preferred
- 10+ years of consulting experience and 3+ years of data protection or privacy experience required
- Experience working with Fortune 500 clients preferred
- One or more privacy certifications and experience with privacy enabled technology solutions preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Office Suite required, knowledge of database systems and software development preferred
- Executive presence and ability to up-sell after first engagement
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong analytical and research skills
- Organizational and multitasking abilities
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and client personnel

Salary Information:

- Individual salaries offered are determined based on qualifications, experience, skills, and geography
- California Range: $200,000 - $225,000
- Colorado Range: $200,000 - $225,000
- NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $200,000 - $225,000
- Washington Range: $200,000 - $225,000
