Job Title: Patent Lawyer

Job Overview:
A law firm in Houston, TX, seeks a Patent Lawyer with at least 2 years of patent prosecution experience, particularly in areas such as 5G, Wi-Fi, artificial intelligence (AI), processor and memory systems, image processing, and RF front-end technologies. The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills and excellent academic credentials. An Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent is preferred. Additionally, the candidate must be registered with the United States Patent Trademark Office ("USPTO") or eligible to register and must be admitted to and in good standing with the Bar or eligible for waiver.

Duties:

  • Conduct patent prosecution activities, including drafting and prosecuting patent applications.
  • Provide legal advice and support on patent matters related to wireless technologies, AI, processor and memory systems, image processing, and RF front-end technologies.
  • Conduct patentability and infringement analyses.
  • Manage patent portfolios and provide strategic counsel to clients.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of patent prosecution experience.
  • Experience in patent prosecution related to 5G, Wi-Fi, AI, processor and memory systems, image processing, and RF front-end technologies.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Registered with the USPTO or eligible to register.
  • Admitted to and in good standing with the Bar or eligible for a waiver.

Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (preferred).
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Registered Patent Attorney with the USPTO.
