Job Title: Senior Counsel, Intellectual Property
Salary: $168,750- $247,500 a year
Experience: Minimum of 12 years post registration/qualification intellectual property law experience. At least 5 years in multinational industrial practice.

Key Responsibilities:

- Advise and make recommendations to the Vice President and Chief Counsel, Digital, Innovation and Technology and various businesses on legal issues
- Manage a broad range of intellectual property (IP) rights activities
- Work with appropriate stakeholders to execute the IP strategy and ensure alignment with Eaton's business objectives
- Ensure that IP transactions between Eaton companies and third parties are conducted appropriately
- Protect Eaton's IP and take appropriate action to avoid infringement of others' IP rights
- Identify and counsel businesses on IP exploitation opportunities
- Develop and deploy IP processes to support business needs
- Counsel leadership on IP portfolio strategies
- Provide advice and recommendations on managing and directing the development, enhancement, maintenance, protection, and exploitation of Eaton's IP rights globally
- Work with a globally dispersed team of IP teammates
- Support the corporate IP strategy and ensure efficient handling of all IP-related processes
- Monitor domestic and foreign IP laws and adapt processes and practices to reflect legal changes
- Manage business IP portfolios and make recommendations for protection and enforcement
- Collaborate with other Eaton senior corporate and operations management to ensure adherence to the IP strategy
- Manage inter-company agreements and agreements with third parties
- Provide advice and counseling on all aspects of IP
- Lead trainings for the Law Department and business partners
- Manage and assess outside counsel providing IP services to the businesses

Required Skills:

- Bachelor's degree in science or engineering (electrical, computer, or mechanical preferred)
- Juris doctorate degree and/or MBA with a Master's in Intellectual Property Law
- . patent registration and registered . Patent Attorney in good standing
- Minimum of 12 years post registration/qualification intellectual property law experience
- At least 5 years in multinational industrial practice
- Extensive knowledge of IP, including patents, trademarks, trade secrets, and copyrights
- Previous experience in both law firm and corporate settings preferred
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proactive communicator and thinker
- Problem solver with the ability to work independently and on teams
- Strong work ethic and high standards
- Competence in project management
- High energy and enthusiasm for continuous improvement
