A law firm located in Waukesha, WI, is in search of a Senior Regulatory Associate Attorney specializing in energy regulations. The Senior Regulatory Associate Attorney will be instrumental in providing legal guidance to clients in the energy sector. Their responsibilities will include handling regulatory, legislative, litigation, and transactional matters with a focus on utilities at both state and federal levels. Moreover, the role entails representing energy companies and large industrial users in negotiations and power purchase agreements with utilities.

 

Duties:

  • Offer legal counsel and support to clients in the energy industry, emphasizing regulatory, legislative, litigation, and transactional matters.
  • Navigate regulatory compliance issues pertaining to utilities at state and federal levels.
  • Represent energy companies and large industrial users in negotiations and power purchase agreements with utilities.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis on energy regulations and industry developments.
  • Draft legal documents, such as contracts, agreements, and regulatory filings.

 

Requirements:

  • Possession of a Juris Doctor (.) from an ABA accredited law school.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in the energy industry, focusing on regulatory aspects.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with clients in the energy sector to address regulatory, legislative, litigation, and transactional challenges.
  • Proficiency in navigating regulations governing utilities at state and federal levels.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Proven track record in litigation, regulatory, and legislative matters within the energy and/or extractive industries.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (.) from an ABA accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the State Bar of Wisconsin or eligibility for admission via reciprocity.

 

Skills:

  • Proficient in conducting legal research and analysis.
  • Strong negotiation and advocacy skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team setting.
