Job Title: Tax Manager - Business Tax Services - Federal/Corporate Tax (West Region Office Locations)
Experience: 5+ years in federal tax compliance, accounting, and consulting
Salary Range: $84,980 - $193,440 (depending on experience and qualifications)

Position Summary:

- Seeking a strategic and creative federal tax professional for a Tax Manager position in Deloitte's Business Tax Services (Federal tax) practice.
- Responsibilities include providing federal tax consulting and compliance services to a diverse client base in various industries.
- Will work directly with clients, manage tax engagement team, and have access to specialists as needed.
- Must be able to work within a hybrid work model, with 2-3 days per week in person.
- Must have 5+ years of experience in federal tax compliance, accounting and provisions, tax analysis, and research.
- Required accreditations include CPA, licensed attorney, enrolled agent, CFA or CFP.
- Ability to travel up to 25% for work.
- Preferred qualifications include advanced degree, experience in virtual or global environment, and strong technology skills.
- Range of salary takes into account various factors such as skill set, experience, and certifications.
- May be eligible for discretionary annual incentive program.

Responsibilities:

- Maintaining and developing client relationships on federal tax consulting and compliance engagements.
- Advising clients on tax issues including income taxes, tax provisions, compliance, restructuring, and controversy.
- Overseeing complex federal tax compliance and consulting projects for different entities.
- Managing engagement workflow, team resources, and billing.
- Providing leadership and career guidance for engagement team.
- Working with Business Tax Services team to integrate tax strategy into client's business operations.
- Assisting with global tax challenges and transforming tax department for greater impact and efficiency.
- Relevant for both public and private companies, services range from tax planning to compliance, controversy, and specialized services.
- Must be able to work in hybrid work model and travel for work.

Qualifications:

- Must be able to work in hybrid work model with 2-3 days in person.
- 5+ years of experience in federal tax compliance, accounting and provisions, tax analysis, and research.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- Required accreditations include CPA, licensed attorney, enrolled agent, CFA or CFP.
- Ability to travel up to 25% for work.
- Preferred qualifications include advanced degree, experience in virtual or global environment, and strong technology skills.
- Must have solid understanding of ASC740 for accounting for income taxes.
- Previous experience in Big 4 or large CPA firm preferred.
- Strong management experience required.
- Excellent research and writing skills.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
