A law firm is seeking a Lateral Corporate - Restructuring and Special Situations Finance Associate Attorney for their Dallas office. The Associate Attorney will primarily collaborate with the Global Finance team and work closely with the Business Restructuring & Reorganization team. They will handle high-profile representations involving creditors or borrowers in liability management transactions, DIP financings, bankruptcy exit financings, and special situations financings. This role offers the opportunity to work with hedge funds, CLOs, private equity funds, and other financial institutions in chapter 11 cases and out-of-court restructurings.

 

Duties:

  • Representing creditors or borrowers in liability management transactions.
  • Handling DIP financings and bankruptcy exit financings.
  • Collaborating with the Global Finance team and the Business Restructuring & Reorganization team.
  • Working on high-profile representations involving hedge funds, CLOs, private equity funds, and other financial institutions.
  • Participating in both chapter 11 cases and out-of-court restructurings.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Law or relevant field.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
  • 5-8 years of experience in corporate restructuring and special situations finance.
  • Experience representing creditors or borrowers in complex financial transactions.
  • Knowledge of chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.

 

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Law or relevant field.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

 

Certifications:

Any relevant certifications in corporate restructuring or finance (preferred).

 

Skills:

  • Experience in representing creditors or borrowers in complex financial transactions.
  • Proficiency in chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
