BDO is seeking a Director to join our thriving Privacy & Data Protection (PDP) Practice in Washington, DC. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with data protection and privacy experience to work with both domestic and international clients and professionals. As a Director, you will be responsible for maintaining existing client relationships, developing new relationships, and delivering quality work product while managing project teams and ensuring projects are on-time and on-budget.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and deliver global data protection and privacy strategies for client C-suite/board
Build cross-cultural functionality to operationalize global privacy programs for clients
Manage BDO USA team members and collaborate with BDO Member Firms and offshore team members
Provide detailed information on domestic and global privacy laws to clients
Establish new relationships to drive opportunities for BDO
Comply with BDO’s Quality Risk Management, Data Protection, and other Frameworks
Manage and maintain relationships with clients and introduce other BDO professionals to expand on existing relationships
Ensure timely and thoughtful responses to client inquiries and requests
Build relationships with other BDO professionals and participate in industry events
Update customer relationship management for pipeline reporting
Review client reports and provide feedback to team members
Develop proposals, respond to RFP/RFI’s, and manage agreements according to BDO standards
Utilize client knowledge to develop project plans and provide regular updates
Participate in and conduct interviews and meetings with various departments
Proofread and edit executive reports for clients
Manage client and BDO Partner expectations at all levels
Mentor team members and ensure consistent work product and BDO standards throughout engagements
Manage multiple large, complex engagements and clients
Support Data Protection Officer for clients
Develop and manage project budgets and review invoices
Act as a leader and maintain a positive attitude towards clients and firm personnel
Manage a team of professionals and supervise their workload
Other duties as required

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Train Sr. Managers, Managers, Senior Associates, and Associates on relevant software and processes
Evaluate performance and assist in professional development
Deliver performance feedback and evaluations
Act as a mentor to team members

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s or Juris Doctorate preferred
10+ years of consulting experience required
3+ years of data protection or privacy experience required
Experience with Fortune 500 clients preferred
5+ years of experience managing large, complex privacy projects required
One or more privacy certifications and technology solutions preferred

Skills and Abilities:

Executive presence and ability to act as primary ,000
Colorado Range: $200,000 - $225,000
NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $200,000 - $225,000
Washington Range: $200,000 - $225,000
