This role requires a proactive individual with strong academic credentials, legal knowledge, and experience in intellectual property matters, particularly in patent and/or trade secret litigation within the life sciences sector.

 

Job Overview:

The Mid-Level IP Litigation (Life Sciences) Associate Attorney will be responsible for handling intellectual property litigation cases, with a focus on life sciences-related matters. They will provide legal counsel and representation to clients involved in patent and/or trade secret disputes, demonstrating exceptional research, analytical, and communication skills.

 

Duties:

  • Conducting legal research, drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents for intellectual property litigation cases.
  • Representing clients in court proceedings, hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings related to intellectual property disputes.
  • Collaborating with partners, associates, and clients to develop and execute litigation strategies tailored to the specific needs of each case.
  • Analyzing complex legal issues and providing strategic advice to clients on potential risks and opportunities associated with ongoing matters.
  • Managing case deadlines, document review, discovery, and other litigation-related tasks efficiently and effectively.

 

Requirements:

  • Admission to a State Bar is required.
  • Strong academic credentials in law and undergraduate coursework.
  • Undergraduate degree in Biology, Chemistry, Materials Science, Genetics, or Biochemistry is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience with intellectual property matters, including patent and/or trade secret litigation.
  • Excellent leadership skills and the ability to take on increased levels of responsibility for client matters.
  • Outstanding research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Sound legal and business knowledge in working on a broad spectrum of cases and counseling clients with respect to ongoing matters.

 

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to a State Bar.

 

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research and analysis.
  • Strong writing and advocacy skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Client-focused approach to legal representation.
