The Standard is currently seeking an Attorney for their Corporate Legal & Compliance department. This is a remote, full-time position with a salary range of $100,000-$140,000 per year, depending on experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing legal advice and guidance on privacy and AI risks, as well as supporting various departments within the company. They will also have the opportunity to work with a team of experienced attorneys and continuously develop their professional skills. Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct risk assessments on privacy incidents and recommend appropriate actions for remediation or notification.
- Advise on new technologies and processes that may impact the company's data and suggest ways to mitigate risk.
- Assist in creating procedures and tools to manage sensitive data.
- Respond to audits and market conduct exams conducted by State and Federal agencies.
- Review contracts and minimize legal risk, especially in regards to privacy.
- Analyze developments in laws and regulations pertaining to insurance and financial services.
- Act as a trusted partner and effectively communicate potential risks and outcomes to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with a team of lawyers to ensure the best outcomes for clients.
- Provide clear and comprehensive legal advice to non-legal professionals.
- Willingness to learn new skills and receive feedback.

Requirements:

- Doctor of Jurisprudence degree.
- Admitted or eligible for admission to practice in the State of Oregon.
- Experience with advising on privacy and/or data security matters.
- Familiarity with applicable privacy laws in the insurance and financial services sectors.
- Strong communication skills and ability to produce clear and persuasive work product.
- Ability to work closely with internal business partners and prioritize business needs.
- Experience delivering presentations to internal and external audiences.
- Knowledge of tax advantage investments, M&A, and corporate governance preferred.
