As a Data Privacy Counsel, you will have the opportunity to use your expertise and interest in data privacy and security to make a meaningful impact on the company's policies and procedures.

Your primary responsibility will be to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including legal and business teams, clients, and third-party suppliers. You will also negotiate and provide oversight for data privacy provisions in complex agreements, and partner with key business stakeholders to ensure data privacy is considered in all new services, offerings, projects, and initiatives. Additionally, you will be responsible for providing data privacy training and managing vendor management processes, as well as developing and maintaining a long-term privacy compliance strategy.

To be successful in this role, you should have at least 2 years of experience in a global data privacy function, with expertise in global data protection laws such as GDPR, LGPD, and CCPA. You should also be licensed to practice law in the United States or other global countries, and hold an IAPP privacy certification. Strong leadership skills and the ability to adapt to changing business needs are also important for this role.

This is a full-time employee position, with onshore work in the office. Some travel may be required, but it is typically less than 5% of the time. The company offers a fast-paced and dynamic work environment with multiple priorities and constant change.

Key Responsibilities:

- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Negotiate data privacy provisions in complex agreements
- Partner with key business stakeholders to ensure data privacy is considered in all new services, offerings, projects, and initiatives
- Provide data privacy training and manage vendor management processes
- Develop and maintain long-term privacy compliance strategy
- Stay up-to-date on privacy trends and regulations and translate them into actionable requirements
- Travel as needed (usually less than 5%)
- Effectively work with others remotely and manage a schedule with global clients
- Conduct privacy reviews and engage in contract negotiation

Qualifications:

- 2+ years of experience in a global data privacy function
- 4+ years of direct work experience in data privacy
- Expertise in global data protection laws (., GDPR, LGPD, and CCPA)
- Licensed to practice law in the United States or other global countries
- IAPP privacy certification (CIPP/US, CIPM, etc.) preferred
- Prior experience providing data privacy guidance to business units and corporate functions
- Knowledge of privacy trends and regulations
- Experience working with OneTrust
- Strong leadership skills
- Ability to adapt to changing business needs
- Strong decision-making abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize and make recommendations to the business based on complex legal analysis
- Willingness to travel as needed (usually less than 5%)
- Ability to effectively work with others remotely and manage a schedule with global clients
- Frequent sitting and operating a computer
- Fast-paced atmosphere with multiple priorities and constant change
