State & Local Tax Manager - Full Time - Up to 20% travel - Job ID 520848WD

Job Summary:

The State & Local Tax Manager will be responsible for providing tax solutions to clients related to business restructuring, tax law adoption, and local tax developments. This role will involve assessing state and local tax burdens and recommending solutions that align with business objectives and comply with tax laws and rules. The Manager will also assist clients with income and franchise tax controversies and develop strategies to manage and stay ahead of state and local tax burdens.

- Resolve issues that hinder team effectiveness
- Coach team members and encourage personal development
- Analyze complex ideas and provide recommendations
- Use multiple sources of information to develop solutions
- Address sub-standard work and use data to inform decision-making

- Manage different viewpoints to reach consensus and positive outcomes
- Simplify complex messages and highlight key points

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Minimum of 4 years of experience
- CPA, Member of the Bar, or other tax/finance-specific credentials are preferred
- Master's degree in Taxation or Political Science is preferred
- Thorough knowledge of state and local tax laws
- Technical skills in areas such as FAS 109, unitary filing, and tax research
- Experience building and maintaining client relationships
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Familiarity with CRM systems is preferred
- Knowledge of automation and digitization in a professional services environment
- Experience with pricing strategies and alternative fee arrangements
