This role calls for a motivated and meticulous individual with experience in both state and federal courts. The successful candidate will be involved in various aspects of civil litigation, including discovery, deposition, and motion practice, and should be adept at managing multiple complex cases with precision and professionalism.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in civil litigation matters across state and federal courts.
  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Manage all phases of the discovery process.
  • Take and defend depositions.
  • Engage with and manage expert witnesses.
  • Participate actively in trials, hearings, arbitrations, and mediations.
  • Develop litigation strategies and evaluate case merits.

Requirements:

  • Active bar licensure in Ohio, with dual licensure in Michigan strongly preferred.
  • 1-3 years of demonstrated experience in civil litigation.
  • Proven track record in conducting discovery, taking and defending depositions, and engaging in motion practice.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with clients, court personnel, and colleagues.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Bars in Ohio and Michigan Bar admission is a plus.

Skills:

  • Excellent research and writing capabilities.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective oral advocacy and negotiation skills.
  • High level of organization and attention to detail.
