A law firm in New York City is seeking a Trusts, Estates, and Wealth Preservation Associate Attorney to provide top-tier counseling on various aspects of estate planning, tax, real estate, disputes, investments, and succession planning. The successful candidate will play a key role in drafting legal documents, advising clients, and assisting with complex estate and trust administration.

Duties:

  • Provide top-tier counseling on a broad range of issues related to estate planning, tax, real estate, disputes, investments, and succession planning.
  • Draft wills, trusts, and related legal documentation.
  • Advise executors and trustees on the administration of complex international and domestic estates and trusts.
  • Prepare and file estate and gift tax returns and tax-exemption applications.
  • Advise individuals and families on trust structures and private client tax matters.
  • Provide litigation support as needed.
  • Directly interact with clients and other advisors to collaborate on sophisticated and highly sensitive matters while achieving client objectives nationally and internationally.
  • Demonstrate exceptional writing, research, and analytical skills.

Requirements:

  • 5-7 years of law firm experience in trusts, estates, and wealth preservation.
  • Must be licensed to practice law in the State of New York and be in good standing.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • Being licensed in New Jersey, in addition to New York, is a plus.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Must be a licensed attorney in the State of New York.

Skills:

  • Strong legal drafting skills for wills, trusts, and related documentation.
  • Proficiency in estate and gift tax regulations and filings.
  • Knowledge of trust structures and private client tax matters.
