Job Overview: A law firm based in Dallas, TX, is seeking a Tax Credit and Impact Finance Associate Attorney with 0-5 years of transactional experience and a strong interest in community development transactions utilizing new markets tax credits (NMTCs), historic rehabilitation tax credits (HTCs), and/or renewable energy investment tax credits (RETCs). The ideal candidate will join our growing Tax Credit & Impact Finance group, bringing expertise in NMTCs, HTCs, and RETCs. Commercial real estate experience, commercial lending experience, structured finance, and/or general federal income tax experience are also valuable for this role.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct legal research and analysis related to tax credit and impact finance matters.
  • Draft and review legal documents, agreements, and contracts associated with community development transactions.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Provide legal advice and counsel on matters related to new markets tax credits, historic rehabilitation tax credits, and renewable energy investment tax credits.
  • Assist in negotiating and structuring complex transactions in the field of tax credit and impact finance.

Requirements:

  • 0-5 years of transactional experience.
  • Strong interest in community development transactions using NMTCs, HTCs, and/or RETCs.
  • Experience with NMTCs, HTCs, and RETCs is helpful.
  • Commercial real estate experience, commercial lending experience, structured finance, and/or general federal income tax experience are beneficial.
  • Active license to practice law.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law.
