A law firm is seeking a Business Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team in Indianapolis, IN. The successful candidate will be able to practice in all phases of general commercial, civil, and business litigation matters with a national and international client base.

Job Overview:

  • Practice in all phases of general commercial, civil, and business litigation matters.
  • Handle cases involving complex commercial litigation such as consumer class actions, antitrust litigation, merger and acquisition litigation, securities and shareholder litigation, corporate governance disputes, real estate financing and development disputes, and/or multi-district or multi-forum litigation.
  • Represent clients in connection with government investigations (preferred).
  • Utilize 3-5 years of law firm experience in a litigation-based practice with particular emphasis on litigation procedure, including the discovery process and e-discovery.
  • Bring deposition, hearing, and oral argument experience (a plus).
  • Demonstrate excellent academic credentials, strong organization skills, attention to detail, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Maintain an active membership in the Indiana Bar.

Duties:

  • Handle all aspects of business litigation cases from inception to resolution.
  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, oral arguments, and trials.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the court.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • 3-5 years of law firm experience in a litigation-based practice.
  • Solid background and prior experience in complex commercial litigation.
  • Solid background and prior experience in complex commercial litigation such as consumer or shareholder class actions, antitrust litigation, merger and acquisition litigation, securities litigation, corporate governance disputes, contract disputes, business valuation disputes, and/or multi-district or multi-forum litigation.
  • Experience with litigation procedures, including the discovery process and e-discovery.
  • Deposition, hearing, and oral argument experience is a plus.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • Active membership in the Indiana Bar.
