Ability to travel 25% of the time # Senior Director, Research Credits & Incentive Services Tax (RCIS) ## Job Description Alvarez & Marsal's Research & Development (R&D) Tax team is currently looking for a Senior Director to help their clients identify permanent cash tax savings and refund opportunities, consider the impact of deductions and credits on effective tax rate, and apply established methodologies and processes to complex areas of taxation, helping ensure consistency year over year. The Senior Director will be responsible for providing consulting services on tax engagements which require a team of specialists with deep tax technical knowledge and experience in key federal tax areas. The individual will work with multi-disciplinary teams to conduct research and development (R&D) tax credit consulting services, including leading interviews with client subject matter experts, writing technical memorandum, performing tax technical research, and developing quantitative workpapers supporting amounts claimed. Additionally, the Senior Director will provide assistance on federal tax consulting services, including meals and entertainment, accounting method assessments, energy incentives, and meals and entertainment deductions. ## Responsibilities - Lead interviews with client subject matter experts - Write technical memoranda - Perform tax technical research - Develop quantitative workpapers - Assist on federal tax consulting services - Manage and implement multiple projects simultaneously - Perform engagement management activities - Assist with tax research, responses to IRS inquiries, drafting IRS protest letters - Apply tax technical knowledge to specific client situations and industries - Interface with client personnel to obtain information - Communicate directly with client personnel - Work as part of a multidisciplinary team - Opportunity to network with existing and prospective clients - Flexibility to travel to client sites 25% of the time ## Qualifications - 6+ years of experience working on Research and Development Tax Credit engagements - Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a STEM discipline - Advanced Degree: MA/MS, JD or LLM - CPA or Licensed Attorney required - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Advanced analytical skills - High proficiency in spreadsheets - Advanced writing skills - Ability to simultaneously work on several projects - High motivation to learn and grow - Detail-oriented and possess strong organizational skills - Ability to travel 25% of the time ## Salary The salary for the Senior Director, Research Credits & Incentive Services Tax (RCIS) position is competitive and commensurate with experience. ## Benefits A&M offers a range of benefits to support their employees’ career, personal and professional development.
