Job Responsibilities:

Prepare and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests
Take and defend depositions with confidence
Communicate effectively with clients and managing attorney(s)
Represent clients in court, mediations, and settlement conferences
Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel or insurance companies
Analyze, evaluate, synthesize, and research case law, statutes, regulations, and documents impacting clients
Communicate clearly and logically with regulatory agencies, courts, counsel, and managing attorney(s)
Organize and manage documents from multiple sources in complex litigation
Effectively manage caseload with little supervision
Try simple matters independently

Job Requirements:


Minimum three years of litigation experience
Ability to work independently
Strong time management, organization, efficiency, and reliability skills
Licensed to practice law in Mississippi, license in Louisiana is a plus

With a minimum of three years of litigation experience, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of cases and receive training and mentorship from partners with extensive commercial litigation experience. This is a full-time, in-person position in our Jackson office, and we are looking for someone who is able to work independently and effectively manage their caseload.

As a Commercial Litigation Associate, you will be responsible for preparing and filing legal documents, taking and defending depositions, communicating with clients and managing attorneys, representing clients in court and negotiations, and analyzing and researching case law and documents impacting our clients. You will also have the opportunity to try simple matters independently, with little supervision.

To be considered for this position, you must have a and be licensed to practice law in Mississippi. A license in Louisiana is a plus. We are looking for someone with strong time management, organization, efficiency, and reliability skills, who is able to work independently.
