## Water Law Associate at Law Firm in Salt Lake City, Utah **Law Firm is Seeking Experienced Water Law Associate for Salt Lake City Office** Law Firm is seeking a water law associate to join its Salt Lake City, Utah office. This opportunity is open to applicants with 3-5 years of experience in the field. The ideal candidate will have experience in Utah water law and a strong interest in developing expertise in this area. **Requirements** The successful applicant will be expected to: - Prepare and file applications and requests with the Utah State Engineer - Participate in adjudicative proceedings before the Utah State Engineer - Support water-related litigation through research and drafting briefs - Prepare and defend claims in water rights general adjudication - Advise clients regarding management and use of water rights - Assist with water transactions, including conducting due diligence, valuing water rights, and drafting purchase and sale agreements and leases - Advise regarding construction and real estate agreements related to water infrastructure projects **Qualifications** Applicants should have the following qualifications: - Existing experience with Utah water law is highly desirable; however, experience in related legal fields will be considered favorably (., other state water law, real estate, public lands, environmental, or litigation) - Experience with laws applicable to Utah political subdivisions, including the Administrative Procedures Act, Open and Public Meetings Act, and laws applicable to municipalities, counties, districts, and interlocal entities - Exceptional written and verbal communication skills - Keen attention to detail - Ability to perform complex work with accuracy and timeliness - Ability to multi-task and prioritize - Strong problem solving, strategic and analytical capability - Highly motivated, goal-oriented person who is comfortable working both independently and collaboratively - Good judgment, responsiveness, and perseverance - Strong academic credentials - - Admitted to practice in Utah or ability to be admitted on motion **Compensation and Benefits** Law Firm offers a competitive compensation and benefits package including medical and dental coverages, generous retirement benefits, life insurance coverage, and short-term and long-term disability coverages.
