Job Summary:

- Provide legal advice and support to healthcare lending team
- Focus on healthcare lending related products
- Full-time position with Forbright

Responsibilities:

- Offer legal and regulatory consultation and advice on commercial loans and practices
- Support internal lending staff in business development and borrower engagement
- Engage in legal research and industry monitoring for new and emerging products
- Interpret statutes, regulations, and case law developments
- Collaborate with compliance, audit, and risk management staff
- Interface with external auditors and regulators
- Oversee work of outside counsel for loan-related legal work
- Maintain knowledge of state and federal banking laws and regulations
- Collaborate with other members of the Legal Department
- Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

- Law degree from an accredited law school
- 10+ years of experience in law firm or in-house corporate legal/financial services industry
- Familiarity with healthcare lending preferred
- License to practice law in good standing
- Familiarity with laws and regulations impacting consumer and commercial lending transactions
- Ability to interface with various levels of management, regulators, outside counsel, and business partners
- Strong ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite

Position Requirements:

- Work primarily in an office, but may have remote opportunities
- Ability to sit or stand at a desk for prolonged periods
- Use hands and fingers, walk, stoop, crouch, and bend over
- Utilize a computer monitor with visual acuity
- Operate technology and office machinery
- Communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
