A law firm is seeking a Litigation Attorney in Waco, Texas. The Litigation Attorney will primarily handle personal injury cases, including client meetings, motion work, discovery, depositions, and mediations. The role requires a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school and State Bar certification in Texas. Board of Legal Specialization Certification is preferred.

 

Duties:

  • Meet with clients to discuss legal matters and provide counsel.
  • Conduct motion work, including drafting pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Manage the discovery process, including drafting and responding to discovery requests.
  • Conduct and defend depositions.
  • Represent clients in mediations and settlement negotiations.
  • Handle court appearances and argue motions as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files and documentation.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and legal staff on case strategy and execution.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • State Bar certification in Texas.
  • Board of Legal Specialization Certification preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in personal injury law.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Outlook.
  • Stellar client interface skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Bilingual proficiency preferred.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA).

 

Certifications:

  • State Bar certification in Texas.
  • Board of Legal Specialization Certification preferred.
