Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a skilled Bankruptcy Attorney to handle bankruptcy cases, review pleadings, attend hearings, and manage routine bankruptcy matters on behalf of clients. The ideal candidate will possess a JD, be licensed to practice law in Maryland and have expertise in bankruptcy law and creditors' rights.

Duties:

  • Review bankruptcy pleadings and claims filed in the jurisdiction
  • Manage routine bankruptcy matters such as Motions for Relief, Objections to Confirmation, and Proofs of Claim
  • Attend bankruptcy hearings and represent clients in court
  • Monitor all electronic filings (ECFs) and ensure compliance
  • Maintain regular communication with clients, opposing counsel, and the Court
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervising attorneys

Requirements:

  • Law degree (JD)
  • Admitted to District and/or Bankruptcy Courts in Maryland
  • Knowledge of bankruptcy laws, rules, and procedures
  • Familiarity with general Creditors' Rights laws and relevant state laws
  • Experience representing creditors in bankruptcy cases is preferred

Education & Certifications:

  • Law degree (JD)
  • Admission to District and/or Bankruptcy Courts in Maryland

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of the Bankruptcy Code, Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure, and relevant local rules
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in electronic filing systems
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Professionalism and discretion in handling sensitive client matters
  • Time management skills to meet deadlines effectively
