Position Summary
- Seeking a strategic and creative Indirect Tax professional
- Specializes in solving complex state and local indirect tax issues

What You'll Do
- Provide state and local indirect tax planning, consulting, and compliance services
- Work directly with clients
- Manage tax engagement team
- Connected to strong support system from firm Leadership
- Responsible for maintaining and developing strong client relationships
- Trusted business advisor to clients on various issues including sales & use and excise tax
- Research and analyze tax issues and implications
- Manage engagement workflow, team resources, and billing
- Assist with drafting and presenting proposals to clients
- Provide leadership and career guidance for engagement team

The Team
- Deloitte's Multistate Tax Services (MTS) group is the largest State and Local Tax (SALT) practice in the United States
- Team includes former state tax auditors and administrators, industry personnel, tax practitioners, accounting specialists, and technology personnel
- Significant experience with requirements and nuances of jurisdictions in all 50 states
- Specific services include state income and franchise tax, indirect tax, business restructuring, credits and incentives, sales and use tax outsourcing, excise tax, property tax, state strategic tax review, and state tax controversy

Qualifications
- Hybrid work model - requires US Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2-3 days per week
- 5+ years experience in state and local indirect tax
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- One of the following accreditations:
- Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA
- Licensed attorney
- Enrolled Agent
- CMI (Certified Member of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation)
- Ability to travel up to 10%
- Advanced degree preferred
- Previous Big 4 or large CPA firm experience
- Excellent research, writing, presentation, and communications skills
- Strong management experience
