The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in prosecuting or defending medical malpractice cases. The role involves assisting in the representation of clients at all stages of litigation, conducting legal research, drafting pleadings, and communicating with clients and other parties involved in the cases.

 

Job Details:

  • Join the medical malpractice litigation team.
  • Assist in representing clients at every stage of litigation, from intake to trial.
  • Research and investigate the law, facts, and medical aspects in a variety of medical negligence matters.
  • Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and case evaluation summaries.
  • Analyze and summarize medical records, police reports, and other documentation.

  • Collaborate with shareholders, associates, paralegals, and professional staff.
  • Appear in federal and state courts for motions, hearings, conferences, and other proceedings.
  • Interview and depose parties, witnesses, and experts, and prepare witnesses for deposition and trial examination.
  • Participate in firm activities, meetings, and events.

 

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience prosecuting or defending medical malpractice cases.
  • Utilize superior legal research, drafting, and advocacy skills.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills and empathy with individuals seeking legal assistance.
  • Possess familiarity with medical terminology, notations, records, anatomical drawings, laboratory tests, and medications.
  • Exhibit solid organizational skills to work independently in a fast-paced litigation environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Knowledge of Needles CMS, LawRuler, or similar intake and practice management software programs is preferred.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
