Job Title:

Business Compliance Officer

Experience Information:

The ideal candidate for this role should have at least 10-12 years of total work experience, with a background in compliance, financial services, audit, legal, or operations. Experience with Corporate Trust products, services, or business lines and knowledge of relevant regulations is also preferred. A Bachelor's degree in Business, Law, or Finance is required, and additional industry compliance qualifications or professional certifications are a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide technical advice and guidance to business colleagues on regulatory compliance and operational issues
- Maintain strong relationships with senior business unit managers to ensure timely delivery of information and favorable conditions for compliance activities
- Analyze rules, regulations, and industry practices to ensure compliance with current requirements
- Evaluate control processes and work with the business to design and implement improvements
- Contribute to the strategic direction of BCO responsibilities
- Conduct Compliance Risk Assessments and collaborate with the business to remediate risks and weaknesses
- Support the business and provide challenge on other assessments and reviews
- Participate in or lead the development and delivery of compliance training
- Contribute to the preparation of time-sensitive reporting and escalate issues as needed
- Assist in establishing key risk indicators and tracking methodologies
- Contribute to team objectives and other duties as required

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Law, or Finance (MBA or Law degree a plus)
- 10-12 years of total work experience preferred
- Prior experience in compliance, financial services, audit, legal, or operations
- Knowledge of Corporate Trust products, services, and relevant regulations
- Strong understanding of financial services products and operations
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to provide strategic leadership and effective challenge
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Team player with flexibility in a fast-paced environment
- Articulate and able to represent Compliance to senior business personnel and external stakeholders
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills (MS Products, SharePoint, Teams)
