A law firm is currently seeking a litigation attorney specializing in toxic tort defense to join their team in Rockford, IL. The Litigation Attorney will be responsible for handling legal matters related to toxic tort defense. The ideal candidate should possess a Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school and hold an active State of Illinois Law license in good standing. The candidate should have 3-7 years of experience in toxic tort defense.

Duties:

• Represent clients in toxic tort defense cases, addressing issues related to exposure to hazardous substances and chemicals.
• Conduct detailed legal research to build effective defense strategies.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents for toxic tort cases.
• Collaborate with experts, consultants, and witnesses to strengthen defense arguments.
• Attend court hearings, trials, and alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
• Provide legal counsel to clients on toxic tort-related matters.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active State of Illinois Law license in good standing.
• 3-7 years of experience in toxic tort defense.
• In-depth knowledge of toxic tort laws, regulations, and relevant legal precedents.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a legal team.
