Job Details:

  • Assist in all aspects of litigation, including class, collective, and PAGA actions.
  • Evaluate claims, handle mediation, take depositions, engage in motion practice, and prepare for and take cases to arbitration and trial.
  • Handle administrative charge work, including preparing position statements.
  • Work with senior attorneys to counsel HR professionals and business executives on compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Provide strategic thinking in avoiding and resolving employment disputes.
  • Maintain active California State Bar membership.
  • Possess active Washington State or Oregon State Bar membership or the ability to waive into or sit for the Washington State or Oregon State Bar.
  • Have 5+ years of experience handling employment litigation in California, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, leave interference, and wage and hour claims (preferably representing management).
  • Demonstrate substantial experience in handling wage and hour class, collective, or PAGA actions.
  • Handle charges before the EEOC and similar state or local agencies.
  • Experience in drafting employment policies is preferred.
  • Provide counsel to employers on compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (preferred).
  • Work collaboratively and independently as needed.
  • Efficiently manage and successfully handle a variety of matters simultaneously to meet client demands.
  • Possess excellent research, writing, communication, and interpersonal skills, including public speaking.

Requirements:

  • Active California State Bar membership.
  • Active Washington State or Oregon State Bar membership, or the ability to waive into or sit for the Washington State or Oregon State Bar.
  • 5+ years of experience handling employment litigation in California.
  • Substantial experience handling wage and hour class, collective, or PAGA actions.
  • Experience handling charges before the EEOC and similar state or local agencies.
