A law firm is seeking an Innovation Attorney - E & I and Finance for its Boston office. The candidate will support the firm’s innovation efforts to enhance the delivery of legal services, with a focus on the E&I and Finance business units. They will work closely with the Global Head of Practice Innovation and collaborate with members and leadership of the relevant business units. Responsibilities include developing and improving practice content, leading client-facing solutions projects, streamlining service delivery, overseeing technology integration, and promoting knowledge sharing and training initiatives.

 

Duties:

  • Create, maintain, and automate precedent libraries, deal documents, and other practice content.
  • Identify relevant practice content, including third-party resources, and integrate them into practice workflows.
  • Lead projects to develop and improve client-facing solutions, such as intake processes and data sharing mechanisms.
  • Support projects to streamline service delivery and digitalize the practice, including automation and data capture initiatives.
  • Oversee the adoption of legal technology within the business units and provide support for technology onboarding.
  • Develop and deliver training curriculum and knowledge sharing initiatives.
  • Integrate AI, including generative AI, into legal practice to automate workflows and improve efficiency.
  • Evaluate the delivery of legal services through data analysis and market trends, identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Educate legal professionals on practice content, technology, and initiatives to enhance legal services.
  • Communicate and consult with stakeholders on various aspects of practice efficiency, client solutions, and technology.
  • Develop case studies for marketing and business development purposes and maintain portal pages for the business unit.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris doctorate (.) from an accredited university or college and admission to practice in good standing in a US jurisdiction.
  • 4+ years of experience as an E&I attorney in a large law firm.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex ideas in simple terms.
  • Familiarity with workflow, document, and communication management best practices and technology.
  • Understanding of knowledge management, practice/project management, and efficiency principles.
  • Enthusiasm for legal technology, including AI and generative AI, and its potential in legal services.
  • Excellent analytical, project management, prioritization, and organization skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with a positive outlook and excellent public relations and diplomacy abilities.
