A law firm is seeking a Real Estate Associate Attorney with 2-7 years of experience to handle a diverse range of real estate matters. The candidate will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and organizing transaction documents, conducting legal research, and actively participating in real estate litigation and land use applications. Excellent communication skills and admission to practice law in New York State (or eligibility to waive in) are essential for success in this role.

 

Duties:

  • Work on real estate matters, including preparing, reviewing, and organizing transaction documents for conveyances, leases, lending, and security.
  • Research real estate legal questions and assist in developing legal strategies to address client needs.
  • Prepare for and complete real estate litigation matters, occasionally appearing in court.
  • Prepare for and complete zoning and other land use applications, including submissions to and appearances before municipal boards.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

 

Requirements:

  • Admission to practice law in New York State (or eligibility to waive in).
  • 2-7 years of real estate law experience.
  • Experience with commercial and residential real estate sales, purchases, and financed transactions, including negotiation, due diligence, document finalization, and closings.
  • Experience with commercial and residential leasing, negotiating lease terms, and handling lease enforcement matters.
  • Ability to conduct, analyze, and explain legal research, including electronic research and strategy development.

 

Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research and strategy development.
  • Familiarity with real property title documents, title insurance, and enforcement of leases.
  • Experience with institutional lenders, real property litigation, zoning and land use applications, and entity formation is a plus.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (.) degree.

 

Certifications:

Admission to practice law in New York State (or eligibility to waive in).
